Are you interested in becoming a doctor? or even applying for medical school? Remember that volunteer opportunities are always a plus on your resumes. Here is an opportunity to volunteer; Casa de la Luz Hospice in Tucson is looking for volunteers to offer companionship and support to hospice patients.
The locally-owned and managed hospice is primarily seeking male volunteers, hairdressers, and volunteers for the east and south sides of Tucson.
Volunteers undergo a background check and a 30-hour training to build their understanding of the end-of-life process and to prepare them to provide companionship to hospice patients.
Volunteer activities include visiting with patients or providing office and event support. With additional training, individuals may become vigil and bereavement volunteers. Those with professional licensure may provide patients with services such as haircuts, manicures, and massage.
